ROSES SQUARE (Rožu laukums)
It is definitely the heart of Liepāja. Since 1912 it has been the place where to meet and to return. The square has been reconstructed in 2000. The rose bed in its centre is surrounded with the plaques showing the coats of arms of Liepāja sister cities.

It was built in 1758. Its special value is the organ which is the largest mechanical organ in the world. The organ has 131 stops, 4 manuals and more than 7000 pipes.

He Russian tsar stayed exactly at this hotel when visiting Liepāja in 1697.

HOUSE OF CRAFTSMEN (Amatnieku nams)
In 1700 the Swedish king Carl XII stayed at this building; nowadays you can not only buy works created by local craftsmen here but also watch how the beautiful things are woven in the weaving workshop “Saiva”.

    AMBER BEADS
At House of Craftsmen ave a look at the world’s longest string of amber beads (length – 123 m, weight – 19 kg)! In 2003 “Donate amber to your city!” was an event that swept Liepāja. As a result of donations made, an amber necklace was made the longest amber necklace in the world! The Amber Necklace can be seen at the House of Craftsmen.
   

ST. ANNA'S CHURCH (Sv. Annas baznīca)
It is the oldest church in Liepāja (first written evidences from 1508) and the organ of the church is the third largest in Latvia. Also the altar in baroque style, crafted by wood-carving master N.Sefrens in 1697, is magnificent, amazingly sculpturesque and monumental.

KŪRMĀJAS PROSPEKTS
It is a street with impressive 19th and 20th century aristocratic houses where Liepaja’s tramway once led the higher class residents of the city to the city’s swimming areas. On the left is a rich Art Nouveau building - Liepāja’s first school. Next to it was the Liepāja Navigation School. On the other side of the street was the Russian – Eastern-Asian Shipping building – now the Regional.

PETER MARKET (Pētertirgus)
Peter Market has been the largest market in the city since its establishment in 1910. It still sells locally grown fruit and vegetable, fresh milk and eggs from the local farmers, wild berries and mushrooms.

MONUMENT DEDICATED TO THE SAILORS AND FISHERMEN PERISHED IN THE SEA
At the end of Kūrmajas street there is the Monument dedicated to the sailors and fishermen perished in the sea (unveiled in 1977).
