NON GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS

There comes a time when we look around and realise that each of us is very different from the others. Some more, some less. We work for people to enjoy these differences, rather than to fear them. Society includes people with different colour of skin, different ethnic origin, special requirements - mental or physical abilities,etc. Let us give our smile to all of them and receive it back!

There are many integration-oriented projects in Liepāja city and organizations working in order to increase mutual understanding between different groups of people in our society. By joining the European Union we have got new possibilities for various ways of cooperation and integration as well as challenges

There are 188 NGO's registered in Liepāja. Liepāja is the only city in Latvia where the municipality has a special expert for youth and NGO issues working full time.

NGO's in Liepāja are actively participating in solving social problems in the city. Liepāja City Council is buying from NGO's social services in the spheres of health care, organization of social events and summer camps for children.
