Architecture and culture objects

Liepaja has a rich cultural and historical heritage – lots of legendary objects, cultural monuments and pearls of architecture.

One of the most significant culturally-historic values of Liepaja is the world’s largest unmodified mechanical church organ in the Liepaja Holy Trinity Cathedral.

Bronze sculptures on Kurmajas prospect depict characters of Liepaja city anthem “Pilsēta, kurā piedzimst vējš” (City where the wind is born) and have become another vivid symbol of Liepaja city.

The “Spoku koks” (Ghost tree) is a younger object, which nonetheless is very popular among residents and guests of Liepaja, and is dedicated to the legendary music band “Līvi”. It is an impressive six metres tall tree, which is made of four thousand metal bars, and it was financed by the city and donations of Liepaja residents.
