In case of symptoms, the Covid-19 test can be performed free of charge and without a doctor's referral. The test can only be performed by prior appointment!
The Covid-19 test can be performed at three locations in Liepāja. You can make an appointment by phone or electronically:
- Covid-19 testing point at the VCA "Liepājas Medicīnas Centrs", Brīvības Street 95 (entrance to the point, please follow the signs);
- Covd-19 testing point at Republikas Street 5 (testing point located on the back side of PSIA "Vecliepāja Primary Health Care Centre").
Testing at these points is carried out by the SIA “Centrālā Laboratorija”, Ltd. All testing sites perform SARS-CoV-2 RNA detection (nasopharyngeal swab or saliva) and SARS-CoV-2 antigen detection.
The Covid-19 test is by prior appointment only! No access to the sites without an appointment!
You can also register for the Covid-19 test by calling the Covid-19 test hotline 8303, which is operated by Rīga East Clinical University Hospital. In this case, the operator will make an appointment at the Covid-19 testing point closest and most convenient to you. When can I take the test free of charge?
Covid-19 testing, or SARS-CoV-2 testing, is a free of charge provided service in the following cases:
- In appearance of illness symptoms (signs of acute respiratory tract infection, fever, smell disturbances, loss of sense of taste, etc.)
- When you have been identified as a contact person
- In case of routine screening (for health, education, social etc. sectors, according to the SPKC (Centre for Disease Prevention and Control of Latvia) algorithm).
For travel and other purposes, Covid-19 testing is a paid service according to the price list set by the laboratory.
If you have symptoms and have to wait until Covid-19 testing, it is advisable to stay at home and limit contact with others, not to go out in public, not to attend events. If possible, you should drive your own car to the testing site and wear a face mask.
