Industrial fishing rights rent
For industrial fishing near the Baltic Sea coast and in Lake Liepaja a contract must be signed with Liepaja city municipality.
Priority for fishing licenses is given to companies or individual entrepreneurs that are active in the area of Liepaja municipality and are involved in commercial fishing or fish resource reproduction and propagation, and such companies or entrepreneurs who have previously observed the conditions of the signed contracts and provisions on fishing.
Rent of industrial fishing rights determines a particular number of fishing tools for each renter. Rent payments for industrial fishing rights must be made every year.
Fishing for own consumption
It is allowed to request one fishing net, one herring net, one viviparous eelpout fish basket, 100 fishing hooks for fishing for own consumption on the Baltic Sea coast. One fish-basket is allowed for fishing for own consumption in Lake Liepaja. It is allowed to use 5% of the total defined number of fishing tools for fishing for own consumption.

- Provisions by the Cabinet of Ministers No. 1375 “Provisions on industrial fishing limits and their use in coastal waters”,
- Provisions by the Cabinet of Ministers No. 1015 “Order on special permit (license) issuing for commercial fishing, as well as payment of state fee for special permit (licence)”.
