In the presence of the creators of the exhibition and the residents of Liepaja, the design exhibition "Iz-aicinājums" (Re-Call) was opened at the Civita Nova art space, showing the daily challenges of designers and prompting the visitors to notice not just the visible results, but also the enduring challenge behind the design process.
"This exhibition illustrates what goes on in a creative person's head when they are working on a project, and you can see the idea rising and falling. Here is the process. That's what people don't really see. They usually only notice the end result, but the process is very long and complex and takes a lot of energy and effort, that's what we wanted to tell you about," said Holgers Elers, one of the leading designers and founders of the office, at the opening.
The exhibition features sketches, brainstorms, reflections, design variations, environmental objects and video footage from the design office's four fields of activity - graphics, display, space and navigation. It is an opportunity to glimpse behind the scenes of the design office's most remarkable works.
The exhibition will be open to the public until 8 June during the opening hours of the concert hall.
