Sports infrastructure

The sports infrastructure developed by the Liepaja municipality allows to host international competitions and championships. Also, the infrastructure serves as a well-developed training base for athletes, who require professional grade training facilities.

Several sports fields and halls are available to residents for free or for rent. 

Municipality sports infrastructure is managed by Liepaja Olympic centre (LOC).

Olympic centre

The Olympic centre is one of the most modern and multi-functional sports and culture complexes in Latvia. The five floors of the main building have halls equipped for basketball, volleyball, floorball, table tennis, boxing, judo, Greco-Roman wrestling and free-style wrestling. LOC premises are also used by dance troupes, medical centre experts, as well as fitness and mini-golf clubs. The sports arena is designed for basketball, floorball and other large-scale sports events.

Pool & SPA (Brivibas Str. 39)

The big pool is equipped with six 25 m long lanes and a small pool for swimming lessons for children. The complex also includes SPA for rest and relaxation.

LOC Ice hall (Brivibas Str. 3/7)

The home of Liepaja hockey teams and place of practice for young athletes. Free-for-all skating rink is also available on particular times.

LOC Manege (Rigas Str. 50)

The track and field manege corresponds to the standards defined by the International Association of Athletics Federations, and has premises equipped for athlete boarding.

Recreation complex “Draudzība” (Nica district, Bernati nature park, “Draudzība”)

The recreation complex consists of eight buildings, which are used for children and youth sports, recreation and education events. The complex is also suitable for summer camps, seminars and training courses.

Tennis courts

Liepaja Tennis school courts (Jurmala park, next to the concert hall “Pūt, vējiņi!”)

Liepaja has long-standing tennis traditions. Liepaja Tennis school courts are used for implementation of professional tennis programmes. In addition to the outdoor courts, it is planned to construct indoor tennis courts on Liedaga Str. 5.

Liepaja sports centre “Ezerkrasts” swimming pool (Dunikas str. 9/11)

Visitors have access to two pools – large and small pool, sports hall and a hostel for athletes.
